Cases related to courts are considered by district (city) courts and administrative-economic courts of the first instance. With regard to territorial jurisdiction, unless otherwise provided by law, the claim shall be submitted to the court of the place where the defendant is officially registered.
A lawsuit is filed against a legal entity based on the location of the legal entity's address. Claims arising from the activities of a subsidiary of a legal entity shall be filed at the location of the address of the enterprise. Unless otherwise provided by law, it means that there may be exceptions in the determination of territorial jurisdiction.
One of these cases is regulated by the choice of the bidder. A claim against a defendant whose place of residence is unknown or who does not have a place of residence in the Republic of Azerbaijan may be filed on the basis of the location of his property or on the last known place of residence.
